New shoes, a classic look. Bob Dylan.

Bob Dylan has always intrigued me. Both his music and his sense of fashion expresses quality and tradition, with a twist.

The early days:
Dylans debut album; 'Bob Dylan', was released in March 1962 on Columbia Records. In this period of time, Dylan was highly inspired by Woody Guthrie. The influense of Guthrie, can easily be detected in the music. But also in his fashion style:

Some Clarks will probably do the trick for you, if this is the Bob Dylan style you want:

The mid sixties:

In the mid 60`s, Dylans music style changed from folk to rock. And so did his apperance.

If you want to dress like Dylan, you have got to get a pair of Chelsea Boots.
A nice quality boot from Hudson. Model: Maywood Black. Prize: € 138

Current:
Dylan has always been inspired by the country/western style:

A boot from the amazing Sendra to match Dylans current style:

And finally a quote from Dylan himself:
"So take heed, take heed of the western wind
Take heed of the stormy weather
And yes, there's something you can send back to me
Spanish boots of Spanish leather."

Albums ↔ Shoes : Fagen ↔ Bally

Idea: Shoes matching albums!

ALBUM:

In this first one I chose my favourite soft-rock album of all-time; Donald Fagen - Nightfly.

This mezmerizing masterpiece from 1982, has without a doubt withstood the test of time. The album received several 1983-Grammy Award nominations, and is to this day reckoned as a modern classic.

Shoes:

The shoes i've chosen to represent this classic album, is of course a similar Classic in it's own genre; Bally.
This Swiss brand`s timeless design and uniqe quality, reflects somewhat the feeling I get when listening to Fagens music.

Bally - Beckford:

Got these Filippa-K shoes from a friend two years ago:

I used them alot last year, and they totally fell apart:

So this week I´ll try to convince my local shoemaker, Hossain, to fix them. Hopefully he`ll do it.

I`ll post the result here.

Q: Can`t find the model on the web. Does anybody know which season this is?

New arrivals and last years cheap alternatives.

Jean-Baptiste Rautureau and MOMA, spring 2011:

Jean-Baptiste Rautureau, Kily Desert(new arrivals, spring 2011): approximately €394

MOMA, art. 23001 (new arrivals, spring 2011) approximatly €300 :

H by Hudson 2010:
H by Hudson, Thursom (spring 2010): approximately €119

H by Hudson, Dylan calf. (autumn 2010) approximatly €100 :

I´ve got the Hudson shoes, and I love them. Especially the Dylan modell. A really good casual-clothing accessory. Its rough texture, nice linings and thick, green(!) shoe laces makes it a perfect "not too dressed-up" shoe.

Thinking about buying the MOMAs though. The design, leather quality and feel is amazing, compared to the Hudsons. (got a sneak peek yesterday.)

Hits the stores in Oslo this week!

Listening to Markus Popp`s new album, O:

Love the acoustic sounds.

Bought these fantastic American boots four months ago, at Lille Vinkel Sko.

Love the 1930`s design on the heels, and the lines moving forward in waves:

Photo of the shoes today:

I actually think the shoes looks nicer when the leather has started to fade in color. Wear and tear sometimes does the trick.

Had to resole the shoes though. The norwegian winter takes its toll on Las Vegas-crafted boots:
