Albums ↔ Shoes #2 : Reich ↔ Pierre Corthay

I thought it was going to be easy, comparing shoes and albums, the first one was too obvious. (In my head anyhow)
But i`ve been searching forums, shoe stores and blogs for footwear that would scream "Lodger" or "Die Mensch Maschine".

Couldn`t find it.

Then, while watching a documentary about Steve Reich on TV and surfing the web at the same time, it revealed itself:

ALBUM:

The music performed on TV when this "revelation" of mine occurred, is not the one represented in this post though. My favourite piece from this composer is without a doubt Music for 18 Musicians by Steve Reich
This strange masterpiece was composed during 1974-1976. Its a 56 minute long minimalistic guide on how to repeat things without it turning dull.

Shoes:

Pierre Corthay. I recently discovered this amazing shoemaker. He has his own workshop in Paris, where you can get your own customized shoes!

The Arca 001 is minimalistic in its design with sleek and elegant lines. Just like Reichs music!

  1. It works! The music and boot are definitely expressions of a similar minimal aesthetic. I like this idea.
